Jack's Rocky Mountain Rye 4X GMPR TC1

Rye is my first dog that I really started from 8 weeks. He was very easy to train and always wants to do what is right. He spent a good amount of time with Julie Bates (Knutson) and I was heavily involved in his training. Julie used him in her video series "Training The Pointing Lab". I handled him in American Pointing Lab hunt tests around the country and he is titled as a TC1. The Triple Crown (TC) is the APLA's National Invitational hunt test. Rye competed along side some of the best pointing labs in the country in a three day retrieving and upland event in Divide, Colorado and received his TC1 title.

Training session

This was a tune up training session for Rye. We put out 3 birds in the upland and then I set up a long water blind with several re-entries.

Working some upland

Rye and I trained quite a bit at Steel Fork Pheasants. As you can tell, he enjoys his job!

Working close to home

We often train at an open space close to home. It is big enough to set up some long blinds and has a couple of ponds we use.
